Create a capability for a website to allow a user to enter an address and have the website return in a table a number of objects within a set of radii certain distances from the user’s location; for example, 2 objects between 0 and 5 miles, 6 objects between 5 and 10 miles, 1 object between 10 and 15 miles.
Assume the objects to be locations represented by longitude and latitude.
Assume each duplicate instance of the same longitude and latitude should be counted.
Assume the maximum number of objects to be 200 or less.
Assume distances to be in miles.
Assume the number of sets of radii to be between 1 and 5.
Assume the minimum distance between radii to be 1 mile.
Assume the lower radius to be greater than or equal.
Assume the upper radius to be less than.
The list of objects (longitudes and latitudes) will be contained in an Excel spreadsheet. Longitude in one column, latitude in another column.
Make the software as configurable as possible via constants. Do not hard code the minimum and maximum values.
Consider possibilities for data validation or error proofing.
This is an initial capability. Depending on the cost and quality of work I may offer variants of this project or additional related projects on this site.
