Proofread 2,700 words. The writing is from an art book, it consists of an introduction, captions, and other short boxes of text.
What you will receive: A PDF document, totaling 7 pages of text and images. The images will be low-resolution and are not of consequence to you. These are the only 7 pages with text on them, extracted from the book.
What you should be doing:
1. Identify errors: typos and clear violations of the rules of English.
2. Identify anything that wouldn't make sense to the average person.
3. Suggest fixes to the above.
What you should produce: An errata document that succinctly lists all errors, and proposed fixes, in a single list. e.g.: "page 7, second paragraph, replace this with that."
Please do not make Individual notes spread throughout the PDF. Please don't make a new document with individual notes spread throughout.
Frequently asked questions:
Can I put my edits directly in your PDF?
Answer: Only if I can find them in a single list, where edit 1 is followed directly by edit 2, edit 3, etc.
Can I give you a (Word or other format) document. Yes, if I can open it and it is an errata document that succinctly lists all errors, and proposed fixes, in a single list.
Please note, if you have typos or other errors in your proofreading proposal, it will be rejected. Also, please don't propose any services I've not asked for. This will prevent your proposal as being deleted when I weed out spam.
Estimated budget $80 for 2,700 words.
NOTE: A sample is attached. This is not the exact file you will proofread. You will get an updated file when the project is awarded.
