I have around 350 .xls files that are identically-formatted. They are monthly measures of state and local financial bond prices from the 1970s to 2012. They each have around 1000 rows and 30 columns.
I need them all combined into the same .csv file. (I prefer .csv to .xls.) They each have a header row, but I only need one header row in the combined document.
I will pay $30 USD for someone to do this for me, and if you are skilled, I predict that this will take very little time. I would prefer that it be done in R or Python, but Visual Basic is OK as well. And I request that you send me your code when you finish, so that I can learn from it. (Note that if the code scrapes the entire sheet, and you then manually remove the extra header rows, that's fine with me -- the code doesn't need to be elegant, I just want to see it.)
I need it back in 6-8 hours (TODAY).
I am attaching three of the spreadsheets as an example.
