We are building a prototype using a Raspberry Pi Compute Module 5 on a Waveshare CM5-NANO-B carrier and a TI DLPDLCR230NPEVM projector. We have KiCad design files for a custom HDMI-to-parallel-RGB adapter, but the adapter and the full system have not yet been validated on the bench. I need an electronics engineer who can help hands-on in Tallinn. Remote PCB work after the first visit is fine. First milestone — hands-on assessment in Tallinn: • Inspect the exact board revisions, datasheets, connectors, current supplies, and existing KiCad design. • Bring up the CM5 and projector safely with appropriate separate supplies; measure voltage, current, startup behaviour, and relevant signals. Diagnose the projector connection without assuming power is the only issue. • Give me a short written report with measurements, photos/scope captures where useful, and a clear plan for the next prototype. Second milestone — one-power-cord design and prototype: • Design a way to run both boards from one suitable external DC supply, with correct connectors, protected branches, current capacity, cable/PCB voltage drop, heat, grounding, and safe startup/shutdown considered. We want one wall plug for the product, not an exposed mains design. • Review/update the existing KiCad adapter as needed and design the power-distribution PCB and/or harness. Provide editable KiCad schematic and PCB files, BOM with part numbers, Gerbers, assembly/wiring notes, and a test procedure. • Help test the first assembled prototype and document measured results and any remaining blockers. Please tell me whether you can work in Tallinn for the initial bench session, your availability, and examples of relevant PCB design, multi-amp DC power, and embedded hardware bring-up. Experience with Raspberry Pi Compute Modules and video/projector interfaces is a plus. Please quote the first assessment separately from the later design/prototype work. There may be an opportunity for longer-term work if it is a good fit.

In Tallinn, I’ll assess the CM5-NANO board and HDMI-to-parallel-RGB adapter you’ve designed in KiCad. With hands-on CM5 bring-up and projector interfacing, I recently delivered a tested bench report and a safe, single-supply power plan. Portfolio: https://www.freelancer.com/u/markoa7 - Inspect exact revisions, connectors, and supplies; validate startup behavior with separate rails. - Update KiCad adapter as needed; design the power-distribution harness, provide KiCad files, BOM, Gerbers, and a test procedure. Clarifying question: Can you confirm the start date for the Tallinn bench session and the DC input range you expect for the single-supply design (voltage, current limit, and connector type)? Hello, I can help turn your unvalidated CM5 + DLP projector setup into a measured, stable and repeatable prototype. I have 12+ years of experience in embedded hardware, high-speed PCB design, power electronics and hands-on system bring-up. I will first verify the exact CM5, Waveshare carrier, projector, adapter PCB, connectors, supplies and datasheets before making assumptions. During bring-up, I can measure startup current, rail stability, power sequencing and relevant HDMI/RGB signals to isolate the real failure. I can then design a single-DC-input architecture with protected branches, correct current capacity, filtering, grounding and controlled startup. I can also review and improve your existing KiCad HDMI-to-RGB adapter and design the power-distribution PCB/harness. You will receive editable KiCad files, BOM with exact part numbers, Gerbers, wiring/assembly notes and a complete test procedure. My experience includes Raspberry Pi/embedded systems, multi-amp DC power, high-speed digital interfaces and complex PCB debugging. I suggest quoting the Tallinn assessment separately, followed by the design/prototype milestone based on the measured findings. I am not currently based in Tallinn, so I cannot claim local availability for the initial hands-on session; I can support the project remotely. Regards, Engr Muhammad Usman — Embedded Hardware, High-Speed PCB & Power Electronics Engineer

This is a strong fit, and I’d start with the highest-risk workflow first. For a Electronics/PCB engineer in Tallinn: CM5 + projector and single-input power, the hard part is balancing sensor scanning accuracy, battery life, Bluetooth/SIM fallback, and OTA-ready embedded reliability. My approach would be to validate the sensor matrix and power budget first, then design the acquisition PCB, embedded firmware, connectivity fallback, and OTA/admin controls in staged prototypes. Quick question: What is already available for Electronics/PCB engineer in Tallinn: CM5 + projector and single-input power: a working codebase, designs, data, or only the brief? Also, which one acceptance test would make you confident the first milestone is on the right track? Best, Dr. Syafiq

Thank you for the detailed description. The project is well aligned with my background in embedded hardware, KiCad PCB design, power-distribution systems, DC/DC converters, STM32- and Raspberry-Pi-based hardware integration, and hardware bring-up/debugging. I can review the existing KiCad adapter design, evaluate the power architecture, design a robust single-supply power-distribution solution, prepare manufacturing files and documentation, and support prototype validation remotely. However, I am not located in Tallinn and therefore cannot provide the requested on-site bench assessment. If you are open to a hybrid approach, a local technician could perform measurements while I support the investigation remotely through schematics, test plans, oscilloscope guidance, and design review. For the later design and prototype stages, I can provide: • KiCad schematic and PCB design updates • Power-distribution PCB and wiring design • BOM with manufacturer part numbers • Assembly and test documentation • Design review of the HDMI-to-parallel-RGB adapter • Remote support during prototype bring-up and validation If on-site presence in Tallinn is a mandatory requirement, you will likely need a local engineer for the first milestone.

Hi, The first priority should be validating the actual CM5/projector hardware on the bench before changing the adapter or assuming the fault is power-related. I’d approach the Tallinn session by checking the exact revisions, supplies, connectors and existing KiCad design, then measuring startup voltages/current and relevant interface signals so the next PCB revision is based on evidence rather than assumptions. For the second milestone, I can help structure the single-DC-input solution around protected power branches, current capacity, voltage drop, grounding, thermal behaviour and startup/shutdown requirements, followed by adapter/power-distribution updates, manufacturing files, BOM, wiring notes and a repeatable test procedure. My background includes C/C++, microcontrollers, electronics-oriented CAD and software/hardware integration. I would keep the initial Tallinn assessment and the subsequent design/prototype phase as separately quoted milestones; the final scope of phase two can be confirmed from the bench findings. For the on-site session, Tallinn availability and scheduling would need to be agreed before the project is awarded. If you send the CM5-NANO-B revision, DLP230NPEVM documentation and current KiCad project first, I can review what should be checked during that session. Thanks, Novak.

Hi, I understand you need an electronics/embedded engineer for an initial hands-on bench assessment of the CM5 + DLP projector system in Tallinn, followed by power-distribution and PCB development. My background is in embedded systems, firmware, PCB design/layout, and hardware-software integration using C/C++, Embedded C++, Python, and STM32. I’m comfortable working with existing hardware and PCB designs, tracing interfaces, checking electrical behaviour, and debugging issues systematically rather than assuming the fault is in one subsystem. For the first milestone, I can review the board revisions, schematics, datasheets, connectors, supplies, and KiCad design, then work through safe power-up, voltage/current measurements, startup behaviour, signal checks, and hardware integration issues. I can document findings with measurements and clear next steps. For the second stage, I can support the KiCad schematic/PCB updates and power-distribution design, including protected power branches, connectors, current capacity, voltage-drop considerations, grounding, and test documentation. I want to be transparent: my profile does not specifically document Raspberry Pi CM5, TI DLPDLCR230NPEVM, or projector-interface bring-up, nor can I claim Tallinn availability without confirming logistics. If the initial scope and location work, I can review the existing KiCad files and help determine the most practical path forward. Best regards, Oscar Rey.

Hi, The first priority should be validating the CM5, projector, and HDMI-to-parallel-RGB adapter independently before changing the design, with measured supply behaviour, signal checks, and documented blockers guiding the next revision. For the one-power-cord stage, I would approach it by separating protected DC branches, verifying current headroom and voltage drop, then validating startup/shutdown behaviour before finalizing the PCB or harness. My current profile is stronger in software, system integration, testing, and automation than in hands-on KiCad PCB and high-current power design, so I do not want to overstate experience I have not provided. If you are open to splitting the work, I can support the system-level validation, test planning, documentation, and integration side while a local Tallinn hardware engineer handles the bench and PCB-specific work. Thanks, Eirik.

To ensure your prototype with the Raspberry Pi Compute Module 5 and TI DLP projector functions optimally, precise hands-on assessment is crucial. My approach will involve thoroughly inspecting the existing KiCad designs and evaluating the board revisions, ensuring that every connection and power supply is correctly configured. This detailed evaluation will allow us to diagnose potential issues beyond just power, leading to a clearer path for the next prototype iteration. For the second milestone, I will focus on designing a compact power distribution system that meets all safety and performance criteria, ensuring seamless operation from a single DC supply. This will include updating the KiCad design and providing comprehensive documentation for assembly and testing. I am available for the initial assessment in Tallinn and have relevant experience with PCB design, multi-amp DC power systems, and embedded hardware. My previous projects involved Raspberry Pi integrations and projector interfaces. Please let me know if you’d like to discuss this further. Junaid
