I wanted to introduce you to a great early-stage company, Tiary ([login to view URL]). Tiary is a vertically integrated e-commerce platform that enables consumers to create, ‘wear’ and share their jewelry. Through 3D printing innovations, Tiary eliminates the need for inventory, maximizes speed to market, and disrupts existing manufacturing processes. Tiary has been getting strong traction in the market and is poised for dramatic growth.
I’m an early-investor and an active Chairman board member at Tiary.
Here are the criteria we’ve used to decide on a test project:
• Requires some design thought but not design focused.
• Requires making changes across different Tiary projects, and therefore an understanding of how they work together.
• Demonstrates some ability to think about conversions and tracking.
• Requires some use of TypeScript.
Here’s the project I’m proposing for the candidate:
Currently, if a promo code is entered that can’t be applied to the existing order (e.g., it's paused, or expired, or can’t be stacked with other codes), it will simply not be displayed or applied to the order.
This is not ideal because users might not understand why the promo code is not showing up. Perhaps they’ve entered a 15% off code already and they are trying to enter a 20% off code but it’s not stacking. It would be better if they were given a message somewhere in the interface saying something like “This code can’t be used in combination with the code _________”.
Build an update to the checkout front end to resolve this issue and make any changes to the getDraft function in tiary-functions as well as the ValidatedPriceRule type in tiary-shared as required.
As a React.js developer, you'll work on Tiary’s serverless e-commerce platform, building products for our store and partners. We build on a consistent foundation of serverless back-end services (e.g., Google's Cloud Firestore, Firebase, Algolia, Imgix), resulting in an incredibly fast-paced and rewarding development environment.
Role overall Requirements
• Must understand the patterns and libraries commonly used in React.JS applications (e.g., react-router, styled-components, gatsbyJS).
• Must be comfortable writing and maintaining TypeScript definitions across multiple projects.
• Should have experience using Google Cloud Firestore to build production applications.
If you have a GitHub account you're proud of, make sure to include it with your resume.
Whether you have years of experience building large scale JS applications, or you're just getting started, we'd be excited to hear from you.
