I have edited more than 50 books, both fiction and non-fiction. I am used to following style guides for the transcribing work I have done for more than 15 years, which involved, for example, using elisions for witnesses in court work but not for the lawyers and judges, and using capital letters for certain words, and specific spellings for certain terms. In other words, I am used to making and referring to glossaries and ensuring consistency throughout a document.
