be a positive experience for women in developing countries by focusing primarily on one
country. Sweatshops are found in countries with high rates of poverty and few or no worker
protection laws. Employees (some are children) are forced to work long hours for little money in
unsafe or unhealthy conditions. Global corporations are often accused of using sweatshops to
lower their production costs without paying attention to the associated human cost.
