Chickpeas: China's dried chickpea imports grew +163.7% YoY. Domestic farming is limited, so Chinese chickpea products are almost entirely made from imported raw material. Mung beans: 499,529 tonnes imported Jan-Sep 2025, +7% YoY. Origins are Uzbekistan, Myanmar, Indonesia, Ethiopia. The top three hold only 72.7%, so there is no dominant supplier and a new origin can still enter. Price anchor: Jan 2026 dried chickpea wholesale, India 0.57 USD/kg, Bangladesh 0.74 USD/kg. Most exporters miss this: Myanmar mung beans enter China entirely by road via the Yunnan land border, not by sea. Coastal buyers and border traders are different conversations. Deliverable: a named buyer list (importers, wholesalers, food processors) with company name, unified social credit code from China's public business registry, city, contact channel and what they buy.
