I want to stop burning hours on two repetitive chores inside Revit and hand them over to Dynamo / pyRevit automation: 1. Mass-placing views on sheets • Typical job: drop 100 views onto 100 matching sheets (sheet and view share the same number) in one click. • The routine must look at the project browser, match numbers, create sheets if they do not already exist, then centre each view on its sheet. 2. Continuation labels • Add “CONT’D” style tags at the top of a drawing and matching “CONTINUED FROM” tags bottom-right and bottom-left. • The text style, offset, and visibility need to respect each project’s title-block family automatically. I do not have any existing scripts, so you will be starting from scratch. While different projects use slightly different naming habits, the logic is consistent: the script should read the sheet or view number, detect patterns (e.g., A-101, M-201.1) and apply the same rule set on any model I run it on. Deliverables • Dynamo graphs or a pyRevit extension (whichever you prefer) with clean, commented code. • A short README explaining required packages and how to run the tools. • One brief screen-share or video demo proving both routines work on a sample project. Acceptance I will load the script(s) into Revit 2022+ and expect them to: ✓ Place a batch of views onto freshly created or existing sheets with correct alignment. ✓ Insert continuation labels in their exact positions without manual tweaking. ✓ Run error-free when the model uses a different title-block family or sheet numbering pattern. If you are confident with the Revit API and comfortable in Dynamo or Python, let’s get these dull tasks off my plate quickly.

Burning hours on sheet placement and continuation labels is exactly the kind of Revit overhead that compounds fast across a busy project schedule — both of these are well-suited to scripting, and I've built similar automation in pyRevit and Dynamo for production environments. For the view-to-sheet placement, the logic I'd use reads the view number directly from the project browser, matches it against sheet numbers using a regex pattern that handles formats like A-101 or M-201.1, creates any missing sheets from a specified title-block family, then centres each viewport using the sheet's crop region midpoint. For the continuation labels, the script would detect the title-block family in the active model, pull its boundary geometry to calculate exact placement offsets, then stamp the CONT'D and CONTINUED FROM annotations at the correct positions automatically — no hardcoded coordinates, so it adapts to whichever title-block is loaded. I'd deliver this as a pyRevit extension with clean, commented Python — easier to maintain and run than Dynamo graphs for logic this repeatable. The README will cover package dependencies and a step-by-step run guide, and I'll record a short screen-share demonstrating both tools on a sample Revit 2022 model before handoff. Are your title-block families built in-house or sourced from a standard library — and do they use a consistent parameter name for the sheet boundary, or would I need to detect that dynamically per project?

Hi, Thank you for the detailed brief. We've reviewed the requirements and have a clear understanding of the objective: automating two repetitive Revit workflows using Dynamo or pyRevit, covering batch view-to-sheet placement with automatic sheet creation and centring, and continuation label insertion that respects each project's title-block family automatically. We particularly appreciate the consistency of the underlying logic across different naming patterns. In our view, the most critical part of this build is the number-matching algorithm, since a robust pattern detector that handles formats like A-101 and M-201.1 across varying naming habits is what makes the scripts genuinely reusable on any model. Based on the information provided, we can cover both Dynamo graphs or a pyRevit extension built from scratch with clean commented code, a README covering required packages and run instructions, and a video demo proving both routines work correctly on a sample Revit 2022 project. Kind regards, Houssame

Placing 100+ views onto matching sheets and manually managing continuation labels is exactly the kind of repetitive Revit work that should be automated. I’d build this as a pyRevit extension (more maintainable and flexible than Dynamo for pattern detection and future enhancements). The tool will match view/sheet numbers, create missing sheets, center views automatically, and place continuation labels based on title-block geometry so it works across different projects without manual adjustment. I have experience with Revit API, Python automation, and rule-based workflows where naming conventions vary but the underlying logic stays consistent. One question: are your continuation labels currently Generic Annotations, Detail Components, or part of the title-block family?

Hello. Automating Revit sheet workflows, especially around consistent numbering and title block data, is best approached with either pyRevit or Dynamo to ensure reliable cross-project compatibility. I can develop a script, either as a pyRevit add-in or a Python script for Dynamo, to handle your sheet automation needs. This would involve: - Implementing custom number-matching logic based on your specific sheet numbering patterns. - Detecting and interacting with title blocks to extract or populate sheet metadata. - Ensuring the solution is robust for use across multiple Revit projects. I can deliver this in 2-3 days for A$130. We can start with your sample Revit file to refine the specific numbering and detection rules. Do you have specific requirements for handling revision clouds or sheet revisions during this automation? Best regards, Yevhen.

Hi, This is exactly the type of Revit automation that delivers immediate time savings. I have experience working with the Revit API, Dynamo, and Python based automation to eliminate repetitive documentation workflows and improve project consistency. For the view placement tool, I will create a solution that matches views and sheets by number, creates missing sheets when needed, and automatically centers views with proper error handling. For continuation labels, I will build logic that reads sheet numbering patterns and adapts placement, offsets, and text styles based on the active title block family, minimizing manual adjustments across projects. The deliverables will include clean, well commented code, a clear README, and a short demonstration showing both workflows running on a sample project. The solution will be designed for Revit 2022+ and flexible enough to handle varying naming conventions and title block families. Best regards, George

Hi, do your sheet numbers always match view names 1:1, or can there be exceptions like placeholders or revision-based sheets? I’m very interested in this project because it targets exactly the kind of repetitive Revit work I automate using the Revit API, pyRevit, and Dynamo with Python—especially batch sheet creation and annotation logic across inconsistent naming standards. My approach will start by analyzing your naming patterns, then building a rule-based script that scans the Project Browser, matches views to sheets, creates missing sheets automatically, and places each view centered with correct viewport handling. For continuation labels, I’ll create a title-block-aware system that reads family parameters and applies “CONT’D / CONTINUED FROM” tags dynamically with configurable offsets. Looking forward to streamlining this workflow for you. Best regards, Andrii

Two chores stand out: mass-placing 100 views onto 100 number-matched sheets in one click, and the CONT'D / CONTINUED FROM labels that have to respect each project's title-block family. The pattern under both is the same: read the sheet or view number, detect the scheme (A-101, M-201.1), apply one rule set. That regex-driven matching is the part most bidders will hardcode and break on the next model. Here's how I'd build it as a pyRevit extension (clean, commented): 1. Parse the project browser, match view-to-sheet by number, create missing sheets from your template, then center each viewport on its sheet. 2. Read the active title block's family + bounding box, then place the continuation tags by relative offset so positions hold across families. 3. Drive numbering via a small pattern config so A-101 and M-201.1 both resolve without code edits. I've spent years writing automation that detects naming patterns and runs error-free across messy real-world inputs, which is exactly the failure mode in your acceptance list. Done = both routines run on a fresh model with a different title block, correct alignment, zero manual tweaks. I deliver in 7 days with a README and a short screen-share demo. Do you prefer a single pyRevit extension, or Dynamo graphs you can edit yourself later? Waqar

The Dynamo and Python route is the right call for this. I can script both workflows, handle the sheet management logic in Python, and wire up the nodes so your team runs them without touching any code. Can start today and have both scripts ready within 3 days. The bid is based on what's in the description. Final numbers depend on the exact steps in each workflow once we talk through them.
