Hi Jerry C., Last week I did a very similar job: rebuilt 2D DWGs of shelving into precise Revit models and exported clean 3D DWGs. Your wine racks fit that flow, and I’m confident to handle this really well. i would like to know the below. - Which Revit version do you need, and should DWG exports be in mm or inches? - Do you want a fixed insertion base point (0,0,0 center/front-left) and a specific file naming format for each rack? I think we should. - Use a locked template with units, views, and a shared origin so all 30 racks align and insert predictably in both Revit and AutoCAD. - Model only clean solids (no meshes), with simplified geometry to keep files light and DWG exports “true 3D”. Lets follow a plan like this. 1) I import each DWG, verify scale against a known size, and set a consistent origin. 2) I model the rack as clean extrusions/sweeps with exact dims from the 2D, accuracy first. 3) I add basic labels: rack ref and overall L×W×H in the file name and a simple tag. 4) I export a tested 3D DWG and provide one finished sample early; after your OK, I complete the rest, one RVT + one 3D DWG per rack. Small note: I’ll keep no materials/notes, just what you asked, and ensure geometry is usable in both platforms without post-fix. If you prefer, I can also include optional RFA for future reuse.
