Write a .spec file to build an rpm for installing qt4.8 into /opt on RHEL

I need to be able to make an rpm to install the latest qt (~4.8) into /opt. I can compile and install it on my own, but I need an rpm so I can install it on several machines. The project is to write a spec file that will do this on scientific linux (RHEL). So the target installation path is /opt/qt-4.8. The reason for opt is that scientific linux comes with a qt, but I want my own.

This should be a pretty simple project, but I need it to be professionally done, well commented, and robust. I will also need detailed instructions on how to create the rpm (although it should be a single rpmbuild statement).

If this project goes well, I have other packages that I need the same work for, as well as maybe help with setting up a yum server. So someone with good rpm building experience please.
