I am looking for an independent pattern cutter or vintage-fluent dressmaker to draft a custom sewing pattern based on an iconic 1940s photo of an asymmetric wrap suit worn by Loretta Young. I am using a high-quality, non-stretch men's wool suiting fabric, so precise tailoring lines are essential. Key Pattern Specifications: Front Bodice: Must feature a clean, flat horizontal front yoke (from armhole to armhole) with no gathers or pleats. The bust darts must be hidden/absorbed directly into the yoke seam. Torso & Waist: Absolutely no visible front waist darts or princess seams. The front panel must be completely smooth and flat across the stomach, with the fitting and waist-nipping probably achieved entirely via side-seam contouring and back waist darts/shaping. Closure & Neckline: An asymmetric front wrap closure. (Note: I would like to modify the neckline from the original photo to a custom style, which we can discuss). Shoulders & Sleeves: Traditional 1940s set-in sleeves with built-in ease to accommodate 15mm-25mm tailoring shoulder pads. I am not CAD literate and do not want to use automated design software. I will provide my exact body measurements. I need the final pattern delivered as a physical paper pattern.

Hello, Your real challenge is not simply recreating a 1940s silhouette, it is preserving that striking asymmetric wrap while keeping the front impeccably smooth in firm, non-stretch wool. I can help translate the Loretta Young reference into a carefully balanced physical paper pattern, incorporating the flat horizontal yoke, concealed bust shaping, side-seam contouring, back waist darts, and sleeve ease for 15-25 mm shoulder pads. I’ll work from your exact measurements and collaborate on the modified neckline so the final draft remains both visually authentic and wearable. Graphic Design principles will help me interpret the reference proportions clearly, while Artificial Intelligence can support visual analysis without replacing the hand-drafted patternmaking you specifically prefer. I’ve shared an initial estimate based on your description, and once we go over a few technical or functional details, I’ll confirm the exact cost and delivery schedule. After confirming measurements, reference images, seam allowances, and your preferred fitting process, I’ll prepare the paper pattern for review and refinement. Would you like the pattern developed with seam allowances and an initial muslin-fitting version, or as a final cutting pattern only? Best regards, Asad Would you prefer the first paper draft to include seam allowances and a muslin-fitting version, or should it be delivered as the finished cutting pattern? How many fitting rounds would you like to plan for, and do you have

Hi, I’d love to help create this custom 1940s-inspired sewing pattern. I understand the importance of precise tailoring, especially with non-stretch wool suiting. I can carefully develop the asymmetric wrap front, flat horizontal yoke with concealed bust shaping, smooth dart-free front, side/back shaping, and traditional set-in sleeves with allowance for shoulder pads. I can work from your exact measurements and the Loretta Young reference, with the neckline customized to your preference. The final pattern can be prepared as a clear, physical paper pattern rather than relying on automated CAD software. I’m detail-focused and committed to achieving an authentic vintage silhouette with clean, professional construction lines.

As a skilled graphic designer with years of experience, my expertise extends beyond just logos. I am highly adept at precise and detailed work, which is crucial for the task at hand. My team and I can ensure that your 1940s jacket pattern is recreated with meticulousness and accuracy, in line with redefining your unique needs. While I may not have extensive experience in sewing or dressmaking, my proficiency in design naturally lends itself to proficiency in pattern-making. Just like drafting an appealing logo requires understanding the brand image and its elements, applying the iconic 1940s style of the Loretta Young's wrap suit to your specifications necessitates deep appreciation for details - a skill I proudly possess. Besides, working alongside a talented team enables me to complement my skills by learning from their expertise on vintage fashion. Lastly, exclusive to this aspect of your project, my aversion to automated design software aligns with your preference for a manual approach towards pattern creation. This ensures that every aspect of your physical paper pattern will be intentionally crafted instead of programmed. Your trust in me won’t be misplaced; we’ll create the perfect pattern that highlights your body measurements while staying true to the 1940s aesthetic you admire. Choose me – let's bring this '40s icon back to life!

As much as I would love to help with your 1940s Jacket Pattern Draft, considering my candidature outline, I propose it might be more fitting to find someone who specializes in vintage pattern cutting or dressmaking. They will likely possess the knowledge and expertise this project demands, including the fluency to recreate this specific 1940s asymmetric wrap suit. Additionally, to handle delicate fabrics like your suiting fabric and tailoring requirements neatly, a tailor experienced in the medium and cutting could make all the difference. Therefore, my suggestion is to pursue someone with extensive experience in this specific area. That being said, should you need any graphic design assistance for branding, packaging, social media graphics, or any creative needs alongside your tailoring project-conceptualization phase, please don't hesitate to reach out. Accessing my services guarantees print-ready designs delivered on time with attention to detail. Moreover, owing to our proposed long-term work partnership requirement, we can also explore future collaborations for your expanding business graphic design necessities.

Hi, I’m not an auto bidder. I’ve read the requirements carefully, especially the specific 1940s construction details and the requirement for a physical paper pattern rather than an automated CAD file. The pattern would need to carefully follow the reference image while incorporating your measurements, the flat horizontal front yoke, bust shaping through the yoke seam, smooth front torso, asymmetric wrap closure and properly shaped back waist. The sleeve construction would also need to allow for the requested shoulder-pad ease. I would keep the pattern suitable for non-stretch men's wool suiting and pay particular attention to clean tailoring lines and accurate proportions. Before drafting the final pattern, I would review your measurements and the reference image with you so the neckline modification and other fit details are clearly understood. The final deliverable would be a physical paper pattern prepared from those specifications. I would be happy to discuss the exact measurements and construction details before starting. Thank you, Lalit
