I need a finite-element model in ANSYS that reproduces a static compression test on a metal specimen while accounting for two different friction coefficients acting on the contact surfaces. The core of the work is to set up the geometry, mesh, boundary conditions, and contact definitions so that I can easily switch between—or simultaneously evaluate—both friction values and compare the resulting force-displacement response. Please use standard ANSYS Mechanical (Workbench) so the project opens without additional plugins. I will provide the basic specimen dimensions and the nominal material data; everything else, from selecting appropriate element types to choosing convergence controls, is up to you. Deliverables • Complete ANSYS project file with both friction cases clearly named and ready to solve • A short note or embedded comments explaining key settings: contact formulation, friction values, load application, and any stabilisation tricks you employ • Result plots (stress, strain, and reaction force curves) exported to PNG or PDF so I can review them quickly before running further iterations myself I’m working exclusively with metals, so feel free to exploit plasticity models already available in ANSYS; a simple bilinear or multilinear law is fine for now as long as it matches the modulus and yield I’ll share.
