I need a program written in Matlab or E-Prime or other software that will allow me to do a psychological experiment in which subjects hear two sounds in a row and use a slider to adjust one of them to be equally loud to the other. The app should have an adaptive quality to it, so that for response with high variance or long reaction times, these pairs are presented more than pairs with consistency & short reaction times. The software should be well documented, so that we can adjust the duration of pause, update the sounds and loudnesses, etc. Let me know if I can clarify anything.

i will deliver a python script to perform the task. It will play to sounds (*) and then show a slider to ajdust the volume of one of them. Additional Features (as i understand the project) * the program will save the results accuracy in a .csv-File * the program will adapt the difficulty (*) Question: What kind of sounds? Soundfile (mp3/wav etc.) or just a beep? Question: Does the User has some number of trials with hearing the to sounds after adjustment? After clarifying the details i can provide a more detailed Milestone and time estimation Why i am the right person: i am a bachelor of (computer) science currenty working on my master thesis in germany. i have longtime experience as tutor for multiple courses at university. i have worked with python on some other projects.

Greetings friend Let me propose you to write your software with the Python programming language. It's free so you can install it on any machine and provides the best libraries so i can create in very little time a robust program that will fully meet your demands. Beyond the user interface to adjust the loudness of the sound, i can also write an user interface for easy adjustment of the other parameters required: "duration of pause, update the sounds and loudness" without necessity of modifying the source code.
