Impl. borgmatic backup (borgbackup) solution 4 Linux

your task will be to provide me a solution to create backups of linux machines with borgbackup / borgmatic

requirements

- daily, weelkly, monthly backups (automation done via borgbackup)

- find solution for some machines require 2x/4x daily backup

- ensuring data consistency of open files (e.g. databases, via borgmatic)

- implementing a solution for many hosts to backup and how to manage on storagebox (in final environment about 50 machines to backup)

- weekly backups, restart a full backup each week, tidy up older backups as 4 weeks

- monthly backups, restart a full back each month (with weekly), tidy older backups as 2 months

- compatible with Ubuntu 20.04, 22.04 with default provided packages in ubuntu repo

your tasks:

MS1:

implement the script to run on a ubuntu with a installed mariaDB and provide a script to backup by best practices

Already done: is the phase INIT and the phase CREATE by the given documentation to storagebox. So the script is already working in terms of running and executing backups.

It is only missing the handling of the bi-daily, weekly and monthly behavior.

MS2:

implement on our production machines

MS3:

implement a montoring of the backups to ensure backup is create, backup files are valid and restore will be possible

delivery

- scripts go into a private git (we share to you)

- provided test backups on a preshared storagebox from us

qualification

- in a quick video demo you show us your working configuration of multiple hosts with target storage into a storage box
