I’m writing with a query regarding a correction to a 3D image file (stl) that I hope you might be able to help me with.
I recently commissioned a 3D file of a small body form in order to print it in 3D. However there’s a problem with the 3D file in question. As you can see from the attached images the original form of the sculpture has been modified (to have a different result from the original one) in the process of the 3D scan. The changes mean that certain areas of the sculpture’s body appear as rigid lines as opposed to a continuation of the original style of the sculpture (aka smooth curved lines).
To ensure any models created using the 3D file are in-keeping with the original form of the artwork we need these errors in the file style to be corrected. My question is do you think you would be able to fix it? It wouldn’t need to be identical to the original sculpture but at least a basic curve or smoothing out of the rigid lines in the file would be enough. Anything to help the file look more natural and closer to the original artwork.
Any assistance or advice you can offer are greatly appreciated.
