We are currently developing a virtual reality project in Unity (using OpenVR/SteamVR) that simulates an operating room. The application consists of multiple modules that teach users the various tools used in podiatric surgery, as well as allowing them to practice incisions with a scalpel. The project is being built in the LTS version of Unity 2019, but it is still utilizing the old SteamVR package from the asset store. We would like to upgrade the project to utilize Unity’s built-in XR plugin instead, for future compatibility.
Additionally, the project is done in HDRP to achieve high-end visuals, but we are having issues getting a lot of the visual effects to show up in our builds. These effects appear in the Unity editor, but not in the builds themselves. For this reason, it is a requirement to be able to test the application with an actual VR setup not just using editor plugins!
The project is hosted on GitLab and you will be expected to push your work at the end of each milestone, so please have a free GitLab
