I have a fully-rigged character saved as an FBX that refuses to animate once it reaches Unreal Engine. The mesh comes through, the skeleton hierarchy looks intact, but the moment I try to preview or play any animation the rig either locks in place or distorts. No texture or error pop-ups—just lifeless geometry. I need someone who can open the FBX, inspect the skeleton and skin weights, and pinpoint why Unreal’s import pipeline is stripping the animation data. This may involve cleaning the rig in the DCC tool, correcting joint naming, re-exporting with proper bake settings, or adjusting Unreal’s import and retargeting options. Once fixed, I want to see the character moving correctly inside an Animation Blueprint so I can continue with gameplay work. Deliverables • Corrected FBX (or a documented re-export procedure) that drives the animations in Unreal without deformation issues • Clear, step-by-step notes on any import settings or skeleton changes you applied so I can repeat the process for future characters • A brief screen share or recorded walkthrough confirming the character now animates properly in-engine If this sounds straightforward to you and you’re comfortable troubleshooting Unreal Engine rig imports, let’s get this sorted quickly.
