We are seeking assistance in video editing and production as part of a training program we are developing to teach road safety engineers lessons in human centred design.
We will be taking video footage of various road environments using a 360 camera with the intention of showing the footage to training participants using a VR headset and asking them to critically analyse the design. For this project, we expect to take around 20 short videos between 30 seconds and 2 minutes.
We anticipate creating more training programs with 360 footage.
Context and instructions for initial job:
This first job is test footage that with your help we hope to use to explore the possibilities of 360 video editing/production in a training context and determine the approach we'll use for our remaining videos.
Using the attached short test footage (~14 seconds) we'd like to explore a alternative ways of using 360 video: graphic overlays, time dilation/slowing effects, highlighting and anything else you think would be interesting or useful.
The finished product will be a set of around 10 variations of the one 14 second video, each one with a different effect or combination of effects. We've estimated 8 hours for the work. Please let us know if you believe it will take less or more time.
The footage was taken with a Samsung Gear 360.
If you have suggestions on the use of techniques to emphasise particular objects in the environment, display text effectively, or any other production techniques you think might be useful, please feel free to share them.
If you're interested or have any questions, please don't hesitate to get in touch.
