MS Access/Visual Basic Project to provide import, entry and analysis of property information.
I purchased the Auditor's database for my county in Ohio. I received approximately 3 dozen text files. The majority of the data I require is included in less that a dozen files that are all linked by the Property Parcel ID (there are less than 90,000 properties in the county). I've loaded some of these files into MS Access but need the project completed quicker than I can do it myself.
Specifically my project will be to:
1. Load the remaining data into MS Access Tables - I have file layouts for the tables. Key and index structure to be discussed. All data must be stamped with the extract date from the county.
2. Create relationships that correctly link the data via key values.
3. Build lookup tables for code values in the base data tables and correctly link them. The lookup value information is provided by the county.
4. Create data manipulation queries to load working tables required to analyze the data.
5. Create a form interface to:
a. Perform Database Maintenance - purge data based on extract date and import new data when I purchase another update from the county.
b. Query the data based on selected search criteria. Criteria will include information about the property, the owner, the value, the tax situation, sales history and other related data. Form must also provide the ability to select which fields will be output and the form of the output (data list, report or export to Excel).
c. Link marketing activities associated with properties and owners. Specifically, to document mailings and other contacts with the property or the owner. Forms must allow the creation of marketing activites and permit their linking to properties and owners via selections which return one or many (similar to the reporting interface). When I mail to 1,000 owners I want to quickly link the marketing piece to the property/owner via a mass update. I also want the ability to quickly assign a followup activity w/ a specific date.
6. Create two standard report templates - one portrait and one landscape - to be used foe outputting data. Correct format must be used based on the ouput selected by the form interface.
7. Create reports to document marketing accomplishments (completed) and planned tasks for a day, week, month, etc.
8. Provide the ability to load and store photo images of the properties into the database.
