I'm looking for someone to design a custom Star Trek themed interface for my Windows 7 PC. Those of you who are familiar with Star Trek will know that I am referring to LCARS. There are some open-source ones out there (such as LCARS x32) but are not up to my requirements. I would like someone to develop a custom program that can look and feel authentic, as well as be adaptable.
Here are some of my requirements thus far;
- Multi-monitor support will be required (with a way to configure what shows on what screen). The monitor I will be using to interact with the program is a HP Compaq L2105tm touch screen monitor (1920x1080).
- Ability to interact with multimedia files (music, pictures and videos)
- Basic programs such as a web browser, calculator, notepad, calendar, clock and an file "explorer" replacement
- Animations integrated within the design (for example, the lock screen I would like to be a modified version of the "panel offline" animation used/seen in the First Contact film.
There is room for a bit of poetic licence, however I can be very picky on the visual aesthetics.
The software will at some point have to communicate with a PICAXE micro-controller via a serial port to control some relays (which will control some lights).
Voice interaction would be a nice to have feature, but not required at this stage.
This project is somewhat bigger than listed, and will most likely lead to additional work. I have attached some pictures and flash animations to draw inspiration from.
