Below is the scope of work for phase two. I will appreciate if you will reconsider your bid. There are going to be many phases and I rather work with one coder only.
1- Stop all zoom functions when mouse is outside of the panel 1.
2- Change the values of OriginX and OriginY dynamically so the zoom in and zoom out will occur where the mouse is. (Like google maps). Also be able to move the drawing around. It is like updating OriginX and y with Private Sub Panel1_MouseMove.
3. The dimensions on the left side of the diagram to have their text on the left of the line (for footing and soil thickness).
4- Write to HKCU rather than HKLM?
5- Make "Check for Updates" run silently without opening up a browser for downloading. I have it setup to turn the mouse pointer to wait. What happens if the user does not have internet, or the website is down. Those connditions should not make the system crash, and should give a message like "Update server down" or "no internet access available".
6- The logic of the software should be be:
a- Any changes to the controls, textboxes, updowns, etc., will
a- Update the drawing on panel1
b- Go thru the Subs as specified in Button2_Click. Note that the button will not be there once the software is complete. (This peogram will not have a calculate button. All chnages will cause the variuous calculations to be executed automatically)
7- Set up printing and print preview. All code to be on Print\[url removed, login to view] if possible. Paper size will be [url removed, login to view] and printer dialog will look like any other windows printer. Diagram and gridview should also be printed. I don't want to use form priting. Show how to write the code for printing ines, boxes, contennts of textboxes, etc., and I will complete the final ayout of the pages to be printed. (Basically I can do the coding that you can see at the bottom of the Calc\[url removed, login to view] file.)
Misc. minor items:
1- On the wall tab, the results go away when I change tabs then come back. The results need to be there all the time. Also the only way I could make the text not write over and over was to fill the whole panel with color. I am sure there is a better way of doing it. Is this the corrcet way of writing text to form? Using Panels an not labels or textboxes?
2- Go to the onerturning-sliding tab and clik Calculate. Can the gridview have dynamic height up to a max so that the blue area is not seen. Also can the sorting be disabled on the headers. It crashes the software.
3- Gridviews alway have a selected cell that is blue. Can those be made to go away.
4- Fix the overall size of the form as you see it fit.
5- What font do I use to be safe. I like Segoe UI, 9pt
6- Can we declare the fonts globally rather than when needed. If yes, where will I put it?
Dim FontRegular10 As New Font("Segoe UI", 10, [url removed, login to view] Or [url removed, login to view])
Dim FontRegular8 As New Font("Segoe UI", 8, [url removed, login to view])
Dim FontBold8 As New Font("Segoe UI", 8, [url removed, login to view])
Dim FontItalic8 As New Font("Segoe UI", 8, [url removed, login to view])
