We have a mixed Windows 2003 and Novell 6.5 Environment with setup in a college with 1,000 students.
We are using Pcounter for Novell to charge the students automatically when they are printing documents.
We need an application that will manually charge students when they are scanning documents.
The operator of the application will choose the scanner out of a list of scanners, then enter the Novell username of the student and the number of pages he scanned.
The application will show the current balance of the student (stored in the Novell NDS as a property of the user), the estimated cost, and the the estimated balance after the charge. If the estimated balance after the charge will be negative, the application will notify the operator that the student cannot perform this scan becuase his balance is not enough.
The student will have to enter it's Novell password, and this will validate that the student approoved the charge.
The application will calculate how many pages it needs to send to a predefined Novell network printer, that will hold all all the "print" jobs from all scanners. This printer will be configured through Pcounter to charge every A4 page with a value of 1, and all A5 pages with a value of 0.5.
The application will send the correct number of pages according to the cost that the student should be charged.
The System Administrator (me) will be able to modify the list of scanners, and how much costs each scan of every scanner.
The application will run on more then one computer.
You will need to give the code of the application including documentation.
