We are looking for a developer who works with Microsoft Office and perhaps with VBA or some kind of artificial intelligence approach to develop a program or Office application that summarizes tabular data. We will supply the language and the program needs to simply "read" the table and summarize the results of multiple choice questions and of tables that summarize four elements in a statistical tables. For example, the question might read: Which of the following fruit is your favorite? And the choices are: apples, pears, oranges, bananas and grapes. (another category would be no answer) The utility would first need to find the highest answer, let us say it is grapes and that 37% choose grapes. The program would then type out in Word: A plurality of 37% of survey participants chose grapes while 23% chose apples, 10% oranges, 5% pears, 4% bananas and 21% did not answer this question. Then the data might be presented in more detailed Word Tables, for example, we might have a Word table breaking down fruit preference by age of survey participant. So the table would have 3 rows one for those under 25 years of age, one for those 25-50 and a third for those over 50 years of age, and we would want to highlight the table (or portions of it) and the utility would then produce the same kind of summary for apples, oranges, pears, etc etc, but first for those under 25 years of age, then for those 25-50 etc etc. I have provided a file with sample tables. We want to be able to point and click on a table or parts of a table, and get a summary.
