POS with inventory control and database

this will be my final year project (masters degree). I need the source code to be well commented so i can understand the whole process.
this POS should be able to scan bar codes with the possibility to type them in case the scanner didn't work... the manager should be able to manage all items of the store and price them, also it should tell him if he is low on certain items (like alarm), it will give him also a report (what kind of cigarets he has to order and how much, ofcorse after he program it and tell the software how much he is in need per week or per 2 weeks...)
