Need help for the following problems.
A. Interval Halving. (4 points) Write a program to find a real root of
f(x) = x3 – x2 – x – 1.9 between 0 and 3 using interval halving. Make a user-defined one-line function like this:
FUNCTION F(X) = …..
Then you can use F like any built-in function. On each iteration, write out a, f(a), b, and f(b). Stop when | b – a | < 0.001.
B. Compound Interest. (4 points) Ask for a simple annual interest rate. Then display the results starting with $100 and applying that interest rate for 5 years, with annual, monthly, weekly, and daily compounding. That is, show four totals after 5 years, to study the effects of more frequent compounding. When finished, ask whether or not to do it again for a new interest rate.
C. Function Plot. (4 points) We can plot a function, f(x), between xmin and xmax by joining small straight line segments. Let d = (xmax – xmin ) / 100, and draw 100 line segments joining the points (x, f(x)) and (x + d, f(x + d)). Use this method to draw the curve f(x) = ( x3 / 100 ) – x + 10 where x ranges from –10 to 10.
