That same choice lets you edit rates yourself from an admin screen — base fare, per-km tiers, night and public holiday surcharges, tolls, child seat, waiting time, and separate multipliers for the Haval and the Vito — without touching code. Importantly, I'd snapshot the full fare breakdown onto each booking, so adjusting your rates next month never changes what a customer was already quoted. Fixed airport fares need care: matching on the address text breaks immediately, because "Brisbane Airport" and "Brisbane Airport T1 Departures" are different strings. I'd match on Google place IDs or on suburb/zone geofences with a priority order, so a fixed route always overrides the metered calculation regardless of how the customer typed it. On Google Maps, worth knowing up front: Places Autocomplete bills per keystroke unless you use session tokens, which is how these sites quietly run up large monthly bills.
