I have a client who wants a cheap and cheeful website to market affiliate gift-related products on. He has tried (unsuccessfully!)to do a html website but it hasn't worked out for him.
The one overridding factor is that it must be easy to use, that's essential. He just wants a home page and standard content page and doesn't mind in the least if it is adopted from a template, if that keeps the costs down.
The website's name is the jolly fiddler dot com and he wants a simple banner on the top, a colum on the right to allow his adsense, a navigation bar on the left for all the buttons that are there but also to allow for one or two other categories too.
For the middle, of the page he's going need two columns, on the left he will feature a product and on the right, he will put the logo link. Essentially it's an affiliate promotion website.
The client is extremely hard working but his knowledge of computers is very, very limited so I cannot stress how important it is to keep it simple! Otherwise, it will be me that will suffer from having to support him!
If the site does any way well, he will be prepared to go back to the same designer for an upgrade.
He's not that worried about logos or anything but if you had a stock image of something like a violin (called a fiddle in some parts, hence the name), it may be useful.
Thank you very much.
