Description of Organization:
We're a company who sells high quality, made-to-order dust covers for pro audio equipment, DJ gear, printers/scanners, TVs, video game systems and other items. Each of these product categories has an extensive list of brands/models we sell a custom cover to fit, and the customer can choose from a variety of colors and materials. Ease of finding your item is critical - -with a step by step instruction guide for ordering off our site -- but if desired dust cover item not already available, an estimate form can be completed. Those items are added to our special request page for purchasing within 24 hours. In depth discussions of product offerings and options available for customization also included.
-- Advertise/Sell Product
-- Redesign existing website layout- -need new home page template using existing logos, color schemes, and text/copy/ pictures -- with that new template expanded across the other website pages. Nothing too flashy, emphasis on functionality and presenting customers with information/options needed for purchase. Something similar in layout to studio slips (dot) (com) would be ideal
-- Submittal Form (one, already working but want to look consistent with redesigned layout), Payment Processing, Shopping Cart with Backend Web Administration; “tell a friend” functionality; website search form for finding products by model number or brand
Approximate new web pages needed (based on same pages/categories/menus of our current site):
-- Home Page
-- one example of product category page (I will do the rest myself based on that template)
-- one example of individual brand page for that product category (I will do the rest)
-- one example of popup for description term
-- Estimate request form submittal (same as current page, but matching new layout)
-- Additional info template page (so I can make page for FAQ, testimonials, etc.)

I have a database of all dust cover products currently offered.
Current Database Used:
-- We currently have a cart but are not happy with it, since mistakes in amounts charged regularly happen and I want more backend automation. (But it is functional) So we’d like a new ecommerce module to match the new website design layout. Cart needs to have coupons, gift certificates, customer registration when ordering, ability for customers to view their order history and order statuses (tracking numbers), invoices sent after order is placed, usps shipping costs pre-determined both by amount spent but also by shipping destination (i.e. US orders have one set of shipping costs, and international orders have another); CA tax; payment processors: Paypal Pro, Googlecheckout, [url removed, login to view]
-- All cart items have fabric choice (premium fabrics have higher cost, but the amount of which differs by size of item), and other items have more options - -desired center slit, remote pocket, handle openings, orientation, etc
-- Make product recommendations (i.e. customer buys printer dust cover, suggest keyboard cover)
-- Would like order data to be able to be used in either Quicken or QuickBooks for invoices purposes
-- Cart statistics desired
Due to sheer number of items for sale, picture of each item and description not needed- -just title, price, and options. Description/pictures are on the pages for category as a whole, fabric descriptions page, and homepage
-- No specific programming language or software is required, whichever you think best suits the requirements- -I will be making frequent additions to product offerings so will need to walk me thru how to do so for the cart and website in general. I am fairly knowledgeable already so shouldn’t take long.
The employer will provide::
-- Concept, categories/brands for catalog of items; webpage menus/navigation paths, existing Database of items being sold, Text/Copy for all pages, photos, logos
The professional will provide:
--Ecommerce Module, Website Redesign and Layout
Technical Assistance Required Following the Project:
