News site. Teline IV customization.
Basically all functions described here will refer to the Teline IV template for joomla.
Also will be necessary to understand this review to visite [url removed, login to view] as a reference. Leave it open while reading will help to illustrate SOME of the features that will be mentioned here. In particular: the flag concept.
Europapress is a News Site generated in Spain (.es) Spain is divided into provinces or Estates (if it were similar to the United States), but this site provides each "estate" with local news.
If you see it closely at the very top they have those little flags representing each of those "states". Each time you click over one of those flags, then the news you can read are local news for that "state" only. You select your local news by clicking in your estate flag, then those specific news (local) displays.
Is as if a "Federal" Newspaper would have one flag over there for each state, (California, Florida, if it were in the U.S) and when you click on the flag, you can read local news for that specific state.
It would not be a clone of that site in any way as the Teline IV template will be use to create site. The ex. is to ilustrate an idea that is not and can not be copyright protected.
Beside that, the "look" of the site could be the very same as any other News Site and the selected template (Teline IV) can be adapted. Graphic esthetic can remain as the template shows and only colors be selected, the TelineIV graphical disposition would also be fine. Also banners for publicity (crucial) , that comes with the template would do fine.
Of course beside the flag concept the site would have buttons reflecting News categories International news, economy, sports, and related to each of this, sub categories (soccer, football, tennis, etc). Teline IV again would do fine. I will just provide each category and subcategory for each.
The Newspaper is conceived for the South American region so the flags would be those of South American countries. Again if you see Europapress site, under the “international” blue button it says: LATAM (anachronism for Latin America. If you go there by clicking there, the site europapress would change its form and flags and will adapt for Latin America, with the proper flags and all "the rest of the world" news would disappear.
In this case ONLY that part of the site (with the defined categories and subcategories is needed. So generally the structure would something like:
Argentina --------- National - Economy - Social - Culture ....
Bolivia --------- National - Economy - Social - Culture ....
Brazil --------- National - Economy - Social - Culture ....
Chille --------- National - Economy - Social - Culture ....
Leaving to determine, still, only how many buttons have to be available (as for: Economy -social-culture...and so on). As told each of them would also have an internal menu (subcategories for sports: Soccer, Football, basketball, tennis, etc). In Europapress you don´t see that in the LATAM section but you do in the main page (europe)
Maximum number of languages:3. Spanish, English and Portuguese (Brazil) being main language Spanish, the possibility to add news in the other languages has to exist.
Modules and functions.
The site has to have the possibility to be able to edit texts from the front end. Meaning to be able to edit articles right away login in the frontend, click on whatever module show this module as backend interface, being ready to edit it. This can only be done by administrator.
CampaignMonitor integration for sending newsletters is crucial. There are a number of third-party Joomla plug-ins and extensions available, as you can find on the downloads page:
