We are looking for an ‘A-team’ Frontend Web Developer who’s seeking to build their portfolio with full ownership of the code and design of our new website’s animated/transition elements. We’re a 3 year-old startup with an exemplary 7 person team who are building an app called Otium Circle. Currently we are doing a lot of re-branding work (at the moment the app is called simple inapps and the website is terrible) so we can connect better with businesses who join us. Our new website’s static design has already been done and will be implemented in SVG, so you can concentrate on the fun stuff! This website will be the first stop before these businesses download our app. So we have to get it absolutely right - your attention to detail will be key. Become part of our dream of starting a company that will change society.
Only direct applications from candidates please (i.e. no agencies or equivalent).
As our Web Developer, for this project you’ll be 100% responsible for frontend web development using the Vue framework. This project could be extended in the future as a role that covers dynamic content provided by API endpoints. You’ll have loads of support from the Customers Team and me (co-founder and backend developer).
Our vision for Otium Circle is to help people make the most of their spare time. So we’re creating an incredibly visual and simple place for lifestyle businesses to:
sell their experiences and products in their own inapps which live in our app (like departments in a high end department store)
create a community with their clients using our Whatsapp-like chat feature
We’re a very passionate team, so much so that we’ve come very far working in our spare time. This also has the advantage that we are forced to think very carefully about our product design and the customers we are working with. To give you a flavour of what we’re striving to create, check out our iOS/Android apps:

We stand for quality over deadlines; attention to detail over iterating wildly, and being friendly over competitive behaviour.
Don’t forget you’ll be building something core to our business. You’ll get loads of support from all the Tech and Customer teams. Our Brand Lead, Kirsten, is based in South Africa, our Head of Customers and co-founder, Pascal, is based in Germany and I’m in London: so we don’t really care where you are based. Make sure you’re the sort of person who puts pride into the software you write and you’re within a bunch of timezones from London. We also don’t care when you work (full time is not necessary) as long as you make time for our weekly team call.
We want you to work with us for 3 weeks part-time and for that we’ll pay £300. We expect you to work around 10 hours per week. A fantastic bonus would be to find the right person to become part of the team afterwards.
If this gets you excited please get in touch, we are looking forward to hearing from you!
