High Quality Web Design

Introduction We are a custom development firm specializing in highly dynamic websites. Our web designer is overbooked and cannot provide a design for one of our projects. We are looking to outsource the design aspect this project with a short deadline. We are seeking a top-notch designer to provide us with a design that meets our expectations for a professional website. The possibility of outsourcing future projects exists. Project Overview We are creating an online database application for the public service / emergency management government sector. We have a great deal of creative control over the design for this project, so input from the end customer will be minimal at best. All design direction will come directly from us, the developers. Ultimately we are looking for a very clean, professional design. Our current designer creates designs that have a professional look of quality that we insist on. We will provide reference websites as examples upon request. The site will not have a traditional home page. So we are looking for a design concept for inner pages. All pages will be dynamically generated by our web application, so the design must be able to accommodate dynamic elements such as menus, lists, etc. No Flash is required. Some stock images may be required. We can provide, if necessary. We have an istockphoto account that we can use to provide stock images. Quality is our highest consideration. Please do not respond if you do not have experience and can provide samples of quality, professional designs that you have 100% created. We are willing to compensate appropriately according to the quality of the work. Deliverables Design for site. Only inner pages required, site will not have a traditional home page. - Table-less CSS design - XHTML - Cross browser - W3C standards - Looking for a very professional, clean, customized design - Must provide at least 5 reference URLs Deliverables include an initial design concept. Allow for several iterations to nail down the design as needed. Final design concept will be delivered in Photoshop format, along with any other necessary materials. CSS for web and print will also be required. We are very strict about using CSS for all presentation, and avoiding tables for anything other than tabular data presentation. We are willing to consider going with a designer only, not able to provide the necessary html/css. We may bid the coding of the design out separately, or take on the coding internally. If you are only able to provide a design concept in PSD format, please specify. All bids will be considered accordingly. Timeline We are looking to have the design finalized and coded within 2 to 3 weeks. Since we don’t have any required end customer interaction on this project, we will be able to provide immediate and concise feedback on any questions or design concepts. Summary We are looking to form a new potential partnership with a quality designer. We chose this project as the one to out-source from our current workload because of our control of design aspect of the project. It should make the design process smoother than involving an end customer. We have done many of these types of websites, so we know what we are looking for and we’re willing to work with you to make it as painless as possible, within the requirements of the project.
