The ICSSA ([url removed, login to view]) is a non-for-profit, research organization.
We have the existing site in operation since 2002. However, lately we got interested in the text format at the New York Times, particlarly the formating used in its opinion/editorial pages.
We have a home page. and about 19 theme pages linked to it. New articles are posted on the front page and the older articles move to their respective sections (respective theme pages) which have a list of relevant articles.
We are planning to relegate the older material, more than 700 pages, to the archieves section on each page.
We need cost effective assitance in designing a new, more dynamic web site.
We have developed a lay out, just for an idea to the perspective web designer. The layout at the moment is static and looks like the New York Times web site because due to lack of technical expertise we could not make any major changes to its structure to make it unique. We are aware of the copy rights laws. The layout that we designed on NYT pattern is only for giving designers an idea for the kind of web-site that we want in a dynamic form.
The general Layout can be viewed here ([url removed, login to view])We would like the web site designers to use this design and build upon it. Cahnges to the layout are welcome. However we would like to keep the text format exactly like shown on the template page ([url removed, login to view])
We would like options such as e-mail it, print it, save it, sapce for readers comments on each article.
We don't know if donnetnuke kind of software would be compatible fore this kind of layout or not. The layout was redesinged in Adobe GoLive.
Your questions, suggestion, quotations are welcome.
