CSS Style Sheet optional
Name: StinksNThings template design.
Company info: We sell retail gag gifts. A lot of them smell, that is where the name comes from. When prospective customers visit my website, I want them to know instantly my product category, and have that "gag gifts/pranks" feel.
*Important: Although some people think that this product category is aimed at the younger generation, I have been selling these products for 5 years. I know that the older generation will purchase these products as well. I want all age groups to feel welcome with the website.
Description: I do require 2 pages. One, of course, will be the homepage. The other will be based off the homepage. It will include the regular header and navigation, along with some navigation on the left (design is up to you). I will use this second page for product information and pricing details. Please include an area for a picture, product description, and a separate pricing area so I can fit suggested price, my price, add to cart, and multiple quantities (similar to my website now at [url removed, login to view]).
I have a site designed right now, but something feels wrong about it. I think it looks un-professional, unclean. I want this new site to be very clean, easy to navigate, pretty colorful (again, design is up to you). I prefer tabbing at the top (please look at what my attempt at this was at [url removed, login to view]). Some of the tabs could be labeled "Pranks","Gag Gifts", etc. For some ideas look at my competitors. Tabbing is of course not required, and I hope to see some entrants without tabs, and some with.
Please view my competitor’s websites for some ideas:
[url removed, login to view] (I think too plain and boring)
[url removed, login to view] (I think WAY too much stuff going on, as in colors and pictures and such)
I have a logo which I like. The colors are changeable on my end. However, if you feel that a new logo will make your template stronger, please add a new logo. If you do this, your entry will become much stronger.
When looking at redoing my site, I did see too templates that I kind of liked, but they weren't perfect. They are available here:
[url removed, login to view]
[url removed, login to view]
I think the second one is too boring, not enough color. When you visit these templates, I sort of even like the template that the company used ([url removed, login to view]), if you are struggling for more ideas.
Please do not base your entries primarily on my current site.
Web Site: My current website is at www.stinksnthings.com.
Colors: No pink :) I like color. I think it brings the eye to more alert state.
Inspiration: Possibly some from the aforementioned competitors or the 2 templates stated above, or my own site. But again, there’s something wrong with my site, I just can't put the right words to it.
Format: I need the final product to be in .html/.asp or similar, editable with dreamweaver, format. I will be using dreamweaver to edit the winner's template, along with Adobe Photoshop CS2 for the pictures.
Rights: Upon paying for the template and the subpage, StinksNThings will own the rights for the winner’s template and subpage, and all included material. I do not wish for the same template to be published again, although it can be put on your portfolio.
Search Engine Optimization is preferred. By this I mean that I know certain templates can be designed to get higher page ranks/higher listings on search engines. This would be nice, only if it didn't conflict with design.
Have fun at it! That’s what the product category is after all!
