We have setup our new knowledge base for our website, on a separate WordPress installation and for security reasons we have decided to host the WP dev environment on a separate subdomain (than our website) and export the KB articles to a sub-folder of our website (eg; [login to view URL])
To export the whole WP and KB articles in HTML format on [login to view URL], we are using the plugin Simply Static, found on: [login to view URL]
The problems are:
1) Simply Static plugin generates folders containing articles, whose names are not always right.
Meaning, Greek characters are sometimes exported as Greek characters and sometimes they're "broken" or "wrong" and display as a combination of Latin, alphanumeric and Greek characters that don't actually work on the browser.
instead of: mysql-remote-connection-απομακρυσμένη-σύνδεση
So, we need all Greek characters of the static site's generated folders, to be in correct alphanumeric format.
2) We also use the plugin "Custom Post Type Permalinks" ([login to view URL]) for custom permalinks of our custom post type articles of our KB. The custom post type is created by the theme we are using, Flatbase Version: 2.0.8 ([login to view URL]).
On most of our articles, their URI contains parent and subcategory based on the custom taxonomies of Flatbase theme (eg: [login to view URL]
We want this particular permalinks structure to be applied also to the exported static html files (created by Simple Static plugin).
3) We also have another issue regarding the URL structure created by Flatbase theme, which we will try to solve with the theme's creators, except if you can help.
This describes the problem: [login to view URL]
4) Furthermore, we want the exported html files generated by Simply Static to have a search functionality.
Any help with that is most welcome.
If you can provide a solution with the existing or OTHER plugins/themes or with a custom code solution please advice.
