We are looking for an experienced developer with the following knowledge: (CSS, HTML, XML, Excel, MySQL, SEO best practices) to migrate our present X-Cart site, swimwearexpress dot com, to the latest version of Searchfit.
Knowledge of Searchfit is preferred for the developer. We sell swimwear and apparel online and have created 6 sites in the last 7 years. The new Searchfit site will be close to an exact replica of the present site.
We will be making some slight modifications, specifically we need for our display thumbnails to be larger and to show the product info underneath, this data is available in Search fit and will only need to be repositioned. We also will be taking out the enlarged photo to the right which will make the migration simpler.
Our site presently has has three main dynamic pages that need to be replicated. The first page represents all of our designers with [url removed, login to view] second page represents the products for an individual designer and the third are the individual product pages.
It is fairly straightforward but has some unique design elements. The other pages that need to match look and feel are the homepage, shopping cart and check out pages. There are also a number of static HTML pages, that should be as simple as just pasting them in.
One unique feature is that when the customer logs in, their name appears at the top of the page and there is some dynamic elements with the shopping cart button, where the button changes to show the number of items in the cart.
The second thing we need is to migrate the data over is the products info, customer information including order history and loyalty points.
The product data presently is intact with the exception of the keywords, meta keywords, title tags etc This info exists in the database but will need to be pulled. X-Cart has the ability to export through a CSV.
The second challenge will be to export the product variants. Presently X-Cart imports the variants and inventory value line by line but Search fit needs to receive the data through CSV with the variants and variant values within single cells and separated by commas. So basically four cells in the X-Cart CSV would equal 1 cell with four separated values in the Search Fit format. Search Fit also has XML import capabilities. The pages must load quickly and we will want an explanation on how this will be accomplished.
In addition we will want to use SEO best practices in any design/ development we use. i.e. Search Friendly CSS, Clean and Validated Code, Proper use of headers<h1> in code, no frames, etc.
