I have a Yale electric rim lock already installed and I want to take it a step further by adding three parallel ways to open it: a keypad PIN, an RFID tag/card, and a biometric fingerprint reader. The main driver is day-to-day convenience for family and frequent visitors—no more fumbling for physical keys—so the solution has to be fast, reliable, and easy to maintain. Here’s the scope in practical terms. I need a compact control module—Arduino, ESP32, or any other microcontroller you feel best fits—wired to the Yale lock’s strike mechanism. It must read all three credentials, decide locally, then trigger the solenoid without noticeable lag. A small OLED or LED feedback indicator and a relay or MOSFET driver for the lock should be part of the circuit. Power will come from the existing door supply, but advice on a clean, battery-backed 12 V or 5 V rail is welcome to avoid brownouts during actuation. Because I may expand to logging or Wi-Fi later, please keep the code clean, well-commented, and modular. No cloud dependency is required right now; all decision logic should stay on-device. Deliverables • Circuit schematic and neat wiring diagram • Fully-commented firmware source with compile instructions • Parts list with exact module part numbers • Brief enclosure or mounting suggestion so the readers and keypad sit neatly near the door • Quick video or photo series demonstrating each method unlocking the Yale rim lock Acceptance criteria: firmware compiles out of the box, the diagram matches the demo, and each of the three methods unlocks the rim latch in under two seconds.

Hi, I can develop the Yale Rim Lock multi-authentication control system using an ESP32/Arduino-based controller. The system will support PIN keypad, RFID, and fingerprint authentication, with all credential verification handled locally on the device. I will also integrate the lock driver, status indication, and power considerations for reliable operation. Proposed Approach: Select suitable ESP32/Arduino and reader modules Integrate keypad, RFID, and fingerprint reader Design lock relay/MOSFET driver Develop modular authentication firmware Add OLED/LED status feedback Implement fast local authentication Test lock actuation and power stability Prepare wiring and mounting guidance Deliverables: Circuit schematic Wiring diagram Commented firmware source Compile instructions Parts list with module numbers Enclosure/mounting suggestion Unlocking demonstration

I have extensive experience in ESP32/Arduino home automation and circuit protection. I will provide a robust schematic, secure firmware for PIN/RFID/Biometric access, and a complete parts list. I focus on reliable, noise-free circuit design to ensure the lock triggers safely every time. I'm ready to start immediately. What is the lock's operating voltage (12V/24V) to finalize the circuit design?
