I'm a recent college graduate (public relations and creative writing), but by no means new to the profession. I'm a member of the Public Relations Student Society of America's national executive board, a founding member of the Public Relations Society of America's New Professionals special interest group, and an active member of the Society of Professional Journalists. My public relations management philosophy is, in my opinion, my strength. I'm "tactics and strategy agnostic," which means I'll never implement certain strategies and tactics for my clients JUST BECAUSE I know how to perform them well. Sometimes, the best direction for a client is something I have no idea how to do (for example, I know paying for top placement on Web search engines has a huge RIO, but I have no idea how to do that). In that case, I'd recommend the client hire another freelancer to perform that task (while retaining me to manage the campaign). This, I believe, is the only way to deal with clients, and is not a luxury a typical PR shop can offer a client.
