Teen Girl's Bedroom
This lovely project was inspired by a very sweet and colourful teenage girl. Her room was filled with furniture from her childhood, a variety of collections and books and an abundance of clothing. Everything was removed and a fresh start embarked upon. The home sits on the waterfront so bright coastal colours were selected. We worked with California Closets to provide the storage and shelving needs and created a separate lounge area with a sofa that folds out into a sleeper for friends.
About Me
I'm an interior designer with a Master's Degree in Interior Architecture and Design and an undergraduate degree in Business Marketing. I've been working in the field of design since 1997 and have designed and built luxury homes, individual rooms, outdoor living environments, commercial businesses and non-profit spaces. Born and raised in Anchorage, AK, I have a passion for nature and sustainability and bring that aesthetic approach to my work. My clients all have a story and my job is to help them express who they are in their spaces. I provide all aspects of the design process from the initial meeting, site visit and programming...to schematic design and design development...to finish, material, furniture selection and procurement...to project management and installation. My primary design communication is through SketchUp, Powerpoint, Zoom and manage my projects using Studio Designer. I provide floor plans, electrical, lighting/rcp, furniture and finish plans, door and window schedules, elevations, perspectives and 3D models. In California I was an accredited LEED Green Associate with the US Green Building Council. In addition to my professional work, I have volunteered extensively with non-profits since 1994 collaborating with community members, leading renovation projects, developing and managing fundraising events and holding positions on several non-profit boards.
