In 2009, I returned to school and completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technology/Visual Communications at the University of Phoenix. My technology skills include working on both PC’s and Mac’s utilizing the following software on both: MS Office Suite including Word, Acrobat, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, Publisher, Access and MS Project; Adobe Suite including Photoshop/ImageReady, Dreamweaver, Acrobat, InDesign, Illustrator and Flash. My computer programming experience includes hand coding HTML/XHTML, CSS, and JavaScript. I have had course work in C, Java, XML and UNIX. I am also familiar with PHP and MySQL. Along with technical and visual communications skills, my degree program also included course work in Instructional Design, Business Information Systems and Project Management all of which concentrated on the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
Because of my recent education, I am an excellent writer, editor and proofreader. My degree program required 15-20+ page APA formatted technical papers, team papers and PowerPoint presentations for every course. Collaboration with global team members located in different time zones as well as different countries was required in order to accomplish the team projects. Due to this experience and my previous nursing career, I am very flexible with my schedule and used to working odd hours in order to meet deadlines.
