## BIO
Programming since 1985, primarily accounting and desktop based applications. Original development focused in Visual FoxPro, Most recent years working with Windows WPF, C#.net. Additional custom work writing both C# and C++ dlls for creating PDF417 / barcode / SVG image. Additional work on C++ writing dlls for integration with Visual FoxPro.
Earned Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Strayer University, Alexandria, VA.
Worked for consulting firms and self-employed gaining exposure to a wide variety of business operations, techniques in coding and problem solving and integrating with other systems.
Most systems have been accounting based and covered many areas of accounting including G/L, A/P, A/R, S/O, Payroll.
## Area of Expertise
Specialize development using Visual Foxpro. I also have a nack at easily reading other people's code, to update / enhance and/or re-engineer systems as needed by clients.
Develop techniques that allow systems to be data-driven (ie: presentation, grids, form content), not just display content from databases.
Worked on two data-mining systems. One with medical claims data analyzing millions of records with data in either VFP, Oracle, or SQL-Server database back-ends. Complex aggregates, dynamic grid display built on query hierarchy as chosen by user.
Second data-mining system based on millions of records of government contracts and grants awarded for competitive bidding by contractors. System sent to Microsoft for review and was "Certified Competent".
Most other systems were accounting system based. Most of the work has been under SBT accounting systems (and now is AccPac systems by Best Software).
