A descriptive cross-sectional field study was carried out, for 38 newborns with maternal diagnosis of preeclampsia admitted. The male gender predominated with 68.4%, the weight was between 700 and 3400 being more Frequent neonates from 1500 to 2499 g with 42.1%. A 68.0% was small for gestational age. 23.68% of the studied neonates died. Birth weight and gestational age were associated with higher neonatal mortality (p <0.05).
