I am a PhD in Biostatistics from North Carolina.

I am retired now, but I spent 32 years as a professor at UT-Arlington. Each semester, I taught two courses in statistics, did work on research (45 papers) and did consultant work on Friday. Being a stat professor, and who taught courses in statistics and SAS (a stat language), I had lots of students with a data set, but with no idea how to proceed with it. I still love to do this. In my first course: Statistical Inference, I developed two tutors based on the SAS language. Then this SAS program was used in the rest of my courses: Statistical Inference Regression Analysis Linear Models Categorical Data Survival Analysis.

* This example is from Survival Analysis; * The experiment was on snails. The two independent factors were: Temp = (20, 25, 30) and Rh = {0, 33, 53, 75, 100}; *There is also a covariate: SL = length of each snail, an important covariate in the experiment. The dependent variable is only one classified every 24 hours as "dead" or else "still alive". This type of data required a SAS fairly complicated distribution to be programmed in "Proc IML" by Doyle Hawkins.

* This data set comes from Johnson and Johnson; The variables: Dependent variable: heal = N if not cured yet = Y if cured Independent variables: Factor 1: harday is, for an animal, either 4, 5 or 6 days Factor 2: dress=1, if ALGOSTERIL =2, if FIBRACOL *Goal: Is experiment between ALGOSTERIL versus FIBRACOL on pigs, different? Using SAS Proc Genmod, we got the solution as a two-factor Anova.

* Goal: Given the six continuous dependent variables: t, dht, t_dht, cort, body, call and two independent variables: day_season and time, Question: Are there any correlations among the six dependent variables, after adjustments for the two independent variables? Using SAS: Proc Mixed, we worked out the solution.
