I have many years of experience in design and development of commercial software. This includes years of OOA/OOD programming experience in VC++ alongside other languages, tools and technologies such as VB, ToolBook, MS SQLServer, MFC, ATL, ADO, HTML, CSS and XML. I have had some exposure to .NET and C#. During the last three years of my employment at a Medical Software Consultancy Company I was a Software Development Manager and Project Consultant. In the early years of my employment with this company as a key member of the development team I co-designed and developed the first commercially released Windows applications by EMIS. These included multimedia standalone/network version decision support applications which contained complex algorithm and medical decision trees. Later I was involved in the design and development of the web version of the various releases. I used MS Visual Studio and VC++ as the main development tools although other tools and languages such as VB, ToolBook and Delphi were also used to develop various other modules. More recently as a freelance I designed and developed (OOA/OOD) in PHP and MySQL. For the past 14 months I have freelanced working primarily with PHP and MySQL. The websites I developed I uploaded and configured to be served by Apache on a shared Linux platform. My software design and development experience extends back to my academic studies period. My research involved mainly computer modelling of electronic devices. This included modelling, design, implementation, testing and case studies for proposed solutions. During this period I used C programming language for implementation of complex data structures and simulation sequences on mainly VAX VMS and personal computers. I am self motivated with hands-on project management experience including specification, design, development through to support. My ideal project would involve design and development of software that allows me to utilise and further expand my skills.
