Mortenson Companies was in need of a brochure that would be used as a direct marketing piece for new clients. Their Ultrasonic Scale Preventers needed a smart and precise layout to introduce Mortenson's customers to their need for this type of product. Preserving Mortenson's established identity was especially important during the design process. These are a series of covers for books that all have an "action" theme. My primary focus was to design with type as much as possible and try to create cover designs that were unique and could still work clearly as a series. This was a project to produce a design for a water bottle that could be distributed at zoos across the country. The design came from emulating a found illustration style and the unlikely pairing of a zoo animal and a fruit, hence the name, Black Beary Water.
