Portfolio-based risk and profit management - MT4 Platform
One problem with living and trading in New Zealand is that most of the big market moves happen while we're asleep! .... during the European and US sessions. To sleep easy while I had a bunch of trades open, I needed a system for managing risk and locking in profits based on the overall portfolio performance. This image shows the Portfolio Risk Manager EA. The PORTFOLIO PROFIT section in this example is set to lock-in 32% of Portfolio Profit once that profit reaches 5.00% of Account Balance. Setting the lock-in percent to 100% would create a portfolio-based "Take-Profit" trigger. The remaining sections in the image (MARGIN LEVEL, PORTFOLIO LEVERAGE, PORTFOLIO RISK, and WORST OPEN TRADE RISK) all relate to portfolio risk management, and close the worst open trade if user-defined limits are exceeded (under 300%, over 12:1, over 8%, and over 2% respectively, in this example).
