The Firmest Flower (first 500 words)
If you're looking for a well-developed, commercially and critically appealing plot, and a style combining literary skill with an urban finish, this is the right entry to pick. I loved the story, I'm passionate about writing the rest of it, and plan to do so even if I'm not picked. If allowed to write the rest of the story, I would continue with a story of Susan's divorce, their struggles in raising their children as toddlers, the dangers of the neighbourhood, keeping their children away from bad influences as they grow up, trying to keep the house together, and dealing with an adverse situation like criminal assault/ harrassment being inflicted upon one of the children. The story would start its falling action after the grand adverse event (which we could discuss as to what should be), with the women dealing with it in courage without men, and setting the children's lives back on track by helping them with studies, getting people to remove the victim's depression, etc.
