REQUIREMENTS: I want 1 sample web-app screen and 1 iPhone/Android app (optional). Will hire winner for more design work during the actual project as needed. The page should show a concept of the locations of such elements as functionality buttons/icons, banners, and starting menus.

I'm offering $100 to the best website and mobile app mockup that captures the spirit of Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts, and their leaders. Scouting is an honorable organization that molds boys into respectful, honest men of integrity and usefulness. Boy Scouts/Cub Scouts learn about being good citizens, surviving in the wilderness, managing their finances, and giving back to their community. I picture a site that incorporates the Scout Law: A Scout is trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean, and reverent; while keeping true to their love for the outdoors and survival.

Ultimately, I plan to develop a website for users to track Boy Scout/Cub Scout rank requirements and merit badge requirements. Each rank or badge will have a checklist to mark the date completed. There will be a calendar of events (though it won't overwhelm the site). Users will be able to print reports and standard forms necessary for scout management. The plan is for it to be developed in web 2.0. There will also be an iPhone and Android app that integrates with the site.

Use your imagination and go crazy with it. I'm looking for something that will attract the users and give them an app that will have folks around them saying "NEAT, what site it that?" Good luck, God bless and thank you for your creativity.

  I received an entry and request for more details for application screen(s). I provided the following info I'll share with all:
  Once logged in, admin user will have the ability to create/update members for their group (scouts, parents, leaders), access rank progress, access merit badge progress, see upcoming events, send mass email to all group members, access reports, and link to other reference sites....oh, one more thing. I friend of mine also gave me a cool concept. This is essentially a "data management" site. However, it could be made to be kind of like a game. Think of rank/merit badge progress as a game. Each scout earns achievements (like XBox) as they complete stuff. Just a thought.
