The winner will be paid the $50 prize and selected to illustrate a 32-page children's picture book for an additional $1,500. May involve single-action animation for e-books. Will be published through Amazon KDP with a trim size of 8.5" x 11." My book is aimed at children ages 5 to 8 years old. I don't have a specific visual style in mind so for this contest, submit a book cover illustration using the story details below.

Story Details:
Little Peety to the Rescue!
The story takes place in a world population with anthropomorphic tools (i.e., no people). The only animate (living) things with faces in this world are the tools. When a thunderstorm storm blows a tree down trapping the mayor and town council in the town hall, the entire town gathers to use their special gifts to free them. The main character is a young pulley named Peety who doesn't know what his special gift is and so sets out to discover it by helping others free the mayor and town council.

Key Requirements:
- Proficiency in creating cartoon-style illustrations
- Prior experience in illustrating for children's books is a plus
- Understanding of child psychology and what appeals to children in the specified age group
- Ability to create engaging, original characters

Ideal Skills and Experience:
- Strong portfolio featuring previous cartoon-style illustrations
- Experience in illustrating for children
- An understanding of the children's book market and trends
- Ability to take direction and work collaboratively with the author

Artist must have clearly labeled examples of children's book illustrations in their portfolio.

    what I've mentioned in my entry is that you already provided feedback for the contestants, if you reject the images, the other contestants cannot see the feedback, and dont know what you liked in each entry and what not, and what they can improve in their entries. You just have to reject the entries that are flatly AI

      The mayor and town council aren't listed. I only listed characters who try to move the tree. I leave it up to you to decide what kinds of tools the mayor and council are.

      I have no means of uploading images for the contest. The only thing I can do is suggest that you go to Google Image and search for images of pulleys for inspiration.

      I'll be publishing through Amazon KDP. I plan for the dimensions to be 8.5" x 11" because I was told they don't have an option for landscape.

      Thank you for providing further info. Unfortunately, yes, authors usually use a spread page for a landscape illustration in Amazon KDP.
