It is for analysing the trajectory of how a dice falls for the purpose of improving throwing craps, i.e. exactly how you want it to land.

- The phone will be placed half a meter from the dice thrower, with the camera shot facing the direction of the thrown dice.

- Two dice will be thrown at the same time.

- The dice will be 19mm red dice, with razor edges, like the ones used in regulation craps.

- The dice are thrown at a target marked by a white (?) spot on a green felt surface 2 to 4 meters away from the thrower.

- The camera will be recording the two dice dropping from above, onto the target spot.

The application needs to calculate and return on the phone screen the results of the throw, within 1 second (the faster the better), the following specifications of the throw, accurate to 2.5%.

(1) Speed of the dice upon impact on the felt table.

(2) Angle of the motion of the dice upon impact of the felt table (should be average and around 45 degrees, ranging from 10 to 80)

(3) The average drop location of the two dice compared with the target spot.

(4) The difference in distance of the impact spots of the two dice.

(5) The difference in time of the impact time of the two dice.

(6) The face of the dice facing downwards upon impact.

(7) How many corners of the dice touch the table before bouncing upwards, and it which order do the touch, and the timing difference for the contact.

(8) The X, Y and Z axis spin speed in terms of revolutions per second (with positive and negative spins for each axis).

(9) Trajectory analysis to work out the V angle from which the dice split away from each other as it moves away from the thrower.

(10) Trajectory analysis to extrapolate the starting position of the dice (the starting position should be the two dice being held together touching each other in one hand), in particular, how high off the height of the felt table, was the dice released.

Either Android or iPhone is usable, assume we are using specifications of iphone 5s and samsung s4. If more than one phone is required to do all of the above within the specifications, more apps can be written separately for two phones to cover the above 10 functions, but no more than three phones.

Mechanical engineering is required to factor in the effects of backward spin and forward spin on the trajectory of the dice.

Requirements summary:

(1) Accuracy of all 10 results must be within 5% of error, i.e. when compared with high definition slow motion recording of manual calculations, the 10 results in absolute figures must be between 95% and 105% of the results achieve manually. 100 tests will take place for comparison

(2) Delay of producing the results on screen. From when the dice impact the felt table until the 10 calculated results appear on screen, the delay must not be more than 1 second. The faster the better. Again a slow motion recording of both the dice drop and the phone results will be used to compare the delay.

(3) Number of phones used are not to be in excess of three phones.

(4) Price to be quoted by freelancer

(5) Development duration to be quoted by freelancer.
